Service Entrepreneurship Training

Volunteers painting the Alliance Center building. Many people have found that one of the greatest sources of sheer joy and satisfaction is working with a cooperative group of people. Many more of us have been on the receiving end, or at least witnessed the power for good that a group can yield. We might imagine it as a dance, one that we are born to do naturally.

But we all know that—initially, at least—the dance can be less than graceful. Personal agendas, personality conflicts, disagreements over priorities, or any of a number of other distractions can sap the energy of even the most enthusiastic of groups and stall even the most worthwhile and supported of projects.

The Center for Purposeful Living can help re-energize your group and keep it on purpose with its Service Entrepreneurship Training, or SET, program. Its mission is to share with volunteer organizations the principles of selfless service that have enabled CPL’s board of directors to stay committed, purposeful, productive, positive, and cooperative for more than 20 years. Training, which can be conducted at your site or on CPL’s campus, is free, the only expense being reimbursement of travel and provision of food and lodging at your site or payment of a modest charge to cover costs of printed materials, meals, and lodging on our campus.

Imagine groups of people thinking and acting as entrepreneurs—forging unified goals and strategies, removing barriers, identifying solutions, making sacrifices, and creating results, as a group, with everyone on the same page. It can happen by implementing the practical and proven guidelines taught by SET.
