More Details about the Transformation Through Service Program

TTS class descriptions

Totally Responsible Person®: TRP® teaches us how to eliminate our victim mentality and respond to situations in a positive and constructive way, to enhance our self-awareness, and to assist others in being more responsible with the end of increasing our ability to be of service. Find out more about TRP.

Service Entrepreneurship: Students learn step by step the process of incubating an idea, and then carrying it forward into a successful enterprise, whether the idea involves self-improvement or potentially addresses a world-class problem.

Science of the Soul: What is life all about? How do we begin to understand the secrets that great philosophers have hinted about for centuries? What is the soul, the goodness within? Studies in the SOS track focus on the “big questions,” such as “Why are we here?” “What are our strengths?” “What blocks our inner goodness from being expressed all the time?” etc.

Practical Spirituality: Students discover ways to integrate the principles from the other classes into practical daily living as an integral part of a group through projects, improved communication skills (including public speaking with confidence), expanding our powers of observation, and developing effective responses to everyday life.

How is the TTS program funded? CPL is a charitable, tax-exempt, nonprofit organization. The budget for CPL’s educational programs, including the TTS program, comes primarily from individual contributions of the CPL board members, and friends of CPL within the larger community. CPL receives no government funding.

What is the role of the CPL community in the Transformation Through Service Program? In addition to being the sponsoring vehicle for the TTS program, CPL is a residential intentional service and learning community consisting of approximately 55 members, including children and people of all ages.  CPL’s community—an integrated service culture—is an invaluable dimension of the TTS program. Every person who is accepted as a CPL student becomes a member of the CPL community, sharing and experiencing all the responsibilities, challenges and joys of CPL’s rich and vital community life.
